Ученики исполняют разученные стихи и песни по теме «Моя семья».

Учитель подводит итоги, и команды посчитывают баллы. Затем учащиеся рассказывают стихотворение для прощания хором.

День св. Валентина

Цели: актуализация изученного материала по теме «Праздники»; совершенствование лексических и грамматических навыков; поддержание интереса к изучению культурных традиций страны изучаемого языка.

Оборудование: стенгазета; воздушные шары; цветы из бумаги для украшения кабинета; коробочка для игры "GuessWho"; наборы разрезанных сердечек; картонные разрезанные сердца для игры "MendaBrokenHeart"; карточки с заданием для игры "CorrecttheMistakes".

Комментарии для учителя: перед проведением данного мероприятия учитель знакомит учащихся с историей праздника «День святого Валентина», разучивает с ними стихи и песни. Можно организовать конкурс на лучшую открытку-валентинку к данному празднику. Мероприятие может быть проведено во внеурочное время или в рамках урока иностранного языка. В качестве ведущего выступает учитель. Кабинет английского языка оформляется стенгазетой, цветами, воздушными шарами. Отдельно оформляется стенгазета и стенд с работами детей — открытками в форме сердечек,

Do you know why the 14 of February is called St Valentine's Day?

St.Valentine was a priest. He lived in Rome. His fiest falls on the 14lh of February. And it is a traditional day of lovers. But this is mere coincidence. He was not famous for helping lovers and he was not the true saint for lovers. In early times people believed that on this day birds chose their mates and joined in couples. But some people think that St.Valentine's Day Celebrations began with a Roman festival of Pan[1] and Juno[2]. In England there was a custom: the names of young girls and boys were mixed up and drawn out by chance. The person whose name was written on the card was your chosen "Valentine" for the year. More than a century ago it became fashionable to send pretty cards. Earlier, people sent funny and sometimes vulgar cartoons to friends on this day. Nowadays there are a lot of different cards on sale for this celebration in Britain. You can pay from 10 p to 10 pounds, it depends on the depth of your love and on the depth of your pocket. You may even send St. Valentine's Day Greeting Telegram. The most popular Valentine cards are the humorous ones, but some of them are so cruel that it would be heartless to send them even to your enemy.

St.Valentine cards are anonimous — you must not say who you are. The person receiving it must guess. You can send cards to anyone you like, or even to people you don't like. There are special cards to My Husband, My Wife, Mother, Father, Sweetheart. At least, it is good to know that in this troubled world love is still living.

In Europe and North America, the 14lh of February is famous as St. Valentine's Day. It is customary on the day to send a Valentine, a card with an affectionate message, to someone you love, or to your best friends. You don't sign your name, and for a person to whom you send this card it's interesting to guess who has sent the card. Of course, it's particularly young people who look forward to Valentine's Day, hoping to receive many cards. The cards may be happy or sad, romantic or humorous, serious or ridiculous, and may be sent to all people you know.

Учитель проводит с детьми следующие игры.

Игра "ValentinePostOffice"

Играющие усаживаются в круг, один человек — в центре круга, и один человек — за кругом. Ученик за кругом будет почтальоном Postman. Почтальон говорит: "Ihaveavalentinefrom ... to ...", называя имена двух участников игры. Эти два человека должны быстро поменяться местами, в то время, как игрок в центре пытается занять место одного из них. Если ему это удается, то тот, кто остался без места, усаживается в центре круга.

Игра "Mend a Broken Heart"

В игру играют парами. Необходимо заранее разрезать сердце на две части так, чтобы разрез был неровный. Одна половинка прикрепляется на доске другую надо повесить с закрытыми глазами так, чтобы получилось одно целое.

Игра "CorrecttheMistakes"

Для данной игры ученики делятся на пары. Каждая пара получает карточку с заданием «Исправь ошибки». Для выполнения задания учащимся дается 2-3 мин. Побеждают те дети, которые быстро и правильно выполнили задание.

Игра "Match the Famous Couples"

Для проведения данной игры учащиеся делятся на группы по 3-4 человека или на пары. Каждая пара получает набор разрезанных сердечек, на которых записаны имена литературных героев, персонажей мультфильмов, известных людей. За 2 минуты игроки должны соотнести пары и составить сердечки.

Игра "Red Things Game"

Красный цвет — цвет праздника Святого Валентина. Каждому участнику дают листок бумаги и карандаш. По сигналу за 3 мин ученики должны записать как можно больше названий предметов красного цвета. Побеждает тот ученик, чей список окажется самым длинным.

Игра "GuessWho"

В классе ставится разукрашенная коробочка, в которую все могут класть любовные открытки. В конце дня коробочку открывают и смотрят, кто больше получил любовных записок. На открытках указывают только имя адресата. Получивший открытку сам должен догадаться, от кого она. Вместоподписипишется: "From me to you, guess who?", "From a lovely bird who's singing a love song", "From a devil to devil".
